Hey Zip, thanks for the comments and questions. Yes, that sounds correct. I have not had a problem with the dull coat. I have found that many people think this is difficult watching the video, when they try it they find it goes smooth and is fairly easy to do. Good luck! Hello James, I was the same as a young one, 10-11 wanted a model railroad. Just never happened for me. Not till I was older and married with kids did it really kinda start sinkin in that I wanted to do it. By the time my kids were old enough, they had no interest and now, they are all grown and I am working to get something together anyway. I really do like the structures probably more so than the trains! Its very time consuming to build them the way I like but one day, maybe they will be on a layout or something that I can call a model railroad. I havent put out any video's in a long time but have settled again into a new property and may be able to do so. I am planning to make some more video's hope you can catch them to. Thanks so much for the compliments, its my thought anyone can do this if they have the time.

Hey, good insight. There are some neat things to add to these, many of them (that I have seen from pictures) have all types of variations. Would be cool to see them in person, like a tour of several of them around PA and WV. It seems to me they really become different animals after living alone for so long. On thing I did, I have never seen and probably would never exist in the real world are air conditioners as seen in the video. It funny to say to, I actually had a comment on it in here somewhere "Get the AC units off that, these mines dont have AC" lol! But hey, first, its not real but should look good. Many do, I do in some cases. I find though that sometimes, the chemical adhesive will also melt and adhere to the rubber bands! This creates a big problem for me. Thanks for the comments and tips!

I surely dont remember, it may be that it has all the windows? Would be more difficult to take off of the brick with all the other stuff that is on the front of it. Totally guessing though.

Hello Ricky, sorry for the late reply, you know, its hard to say. depends on the location maybe? Hard question for me to answer without some background, like period of your layout, general weather in that area. All that if your all about trying to do something "real". In all, for me, I just do what I feel! Do you have any videos that show your layout and how this color might blend with the existing buildings? If I were to shoot from the hip on this, when I think meat packing, I think bland colors, soft browns, greens maybe even a dark yellow. I am from Amarillo, crossroads to major railroads and IBP, meat packers and all of these buildings I have ever seen were really bland "cheap" colors.

Hello Joseph, thanks for the comments and the compliments! I know probably as much as you do about DCC, there are plenty of video's out there now on this though, I am sure you will find some help on that. Weathering is key to getting scale look I think, look into the weathering powders that are in the video, you might find different shades make your life easy.

Hello Joe, again :) Thanks again for the comments. I posted on the other comment about the building set called Woodland Scenics City and Industry box set. Great starter set I think. Yes, I have said many times, the structures to me is most of the fun part for me in model roading. I like the over all modeling and building more than operating trains, in fact the trains are simply a part of my model. I do like a bit of switching but I think its more about utilizing the buildings I build.

Hello Joe, thanks for the comments. Most of these buildings came with a set. Woodland Scenics City and Industry. if you purchased the set now you might have some duplicates. So many buildings kept me busy for a pretty long time! Painting the inside also help with window reflection, its something that makes them appear more real to me for some reason, just looks good I think.

I am glad you enjoyed the video and even more that it was helpful. The music is canned created music in Avid Video software that I used to create the video. I like it to, and can create all types of variations of the the music.

Hello P, No, generally you wouldn't want to use solvent to glue painted parts, sometimes you can get away with super glue depending on the application. Solvent however melts the pieces together and you wouldn't want any obstruction of the solvent doing its job. This actually was addressed in one of my video's, scraping paint to use solvent.

@@RaysTrains Ray, you know I am actually considering putting some more build video's together. I am not sure what more I can share but the thought is in my head. I am building a shop that I can do my hobby stuff in and then maybe I can do some more. An update video might also be appropriate, I agree, I have jut not had the facility or time to do anything with this hobby. Getting closer though and hopefully it will happen. I was just looking on eBay for another one, I had some idea's for a new build. That is a great price, most of what I found was in the $60-$80 mark. I have so many models to build now that I really shouldnt do another one of these. Thanks for the compliments and also for leaving the comment.

I know he was selling it cheaper like $39. I got him down to $26. I got it yesterday and sprayed the building silver til I ran out lol I knew I didn't have enough but was excited.. and I feel you I have so many to put together and don't even know if I have the space I have alot of building's I'm cutting alot in half to mack back.drops ... It's addicting lol I seen one on eBay for $53. You might getting it cheaper . I just message them if there's no offer button.. good luck bud, again great work. Looks like you have a head start on the layout of your buildings, that's great rather than going in blind I say. Have you considered building them on video and uploading the video's? It sounds like you have many to build, would be a great few video's. N scale is pretty small, I am not sure if I could do N Scale, just really hard to see. Danny, thanks for the comments and I do look forward to seeing some of your work regardless of how you show it off, in video, Facebook or however.

I am still kickin' just not much time to devote to video's. I keep thinking I am going to make some more and it could happen sometime. Its great to see people interested in more stuff, I am much older now but have more time, this is a good thing. Hey, thanks for the comments and compliments.

Awesome!! I've watched tons of your videos while I'm working on dioramas or on my layout. I'm sure you've heard it before, but you have a very calming demeanor and way of presenting your videos. I'm looking forward to more of them! But no rush tho lol I know how it is. I haven't made a video in over two years. Life takes over sometimes!

@@modelsncrawlers3209 Yea, life does seem to do that to us. But now, being retired I have really thought about doing it some more. I do get a lot of requests and I still have several models I purchased for making videos. Keep lookout in the next few months, it could happen.

Howdie, thanks for the feedback, ideas. Much of what you have suggested I actually do. I am not sure if you make video's for youtube but you should as you seem to have some good insight in building structures. Try it, you might like making videos to help others.

@@rwissbaum9849 I will check out your video's of course, didnt even think to look as most people who reply dont have any video's. Your right, its a lot of work, it takes me 3 times as long to build a model doing a video with a build. I am really not that good at it, I just kinda throw it together. Its time consuming for sure. Practice helps though.

@@ModelerManMike Well, for someone who characterizes his video skills as "not that good", I'd say you're doing marvelously well! I bought myself a cheap video recorder last Christmas and I plan to try shooting some better videos. Maybe I'll try filming (how's that for an anachronistic word?) my next model build. (The videos I have posted were shot using my phone.)

You would want at the very least a 1024, look up the specs on the Sony HDR-PJ260, I used these for my video's. These would be like 12 years old though camera is key really to get a good clear picture and on a tri-pod as much as possible. Might find one of these used for cheap now! I used 3 of them for different angles but one would suffice I think.

Thanks Debbie, I appreciate the comments. Thanks for the sub also. Its been several years since I made this video and if I remember correctly it was done with Pinnacle Studio, the music is generated by the software and this makes it a bit easy. Being country as I am always look for blues, jazz and country for my video's, not all like it that is for sure.

Hello mate, I think you might be talking about the 1x2x3 blocks? Good for squaring and weight. I found these I think Amazon or Ebay, just look for 1x2x3 blocks. They also sell 2x4x6 I think. Very useful for model building, I have 6 and this is generally enough I think. Let me know if you find some. Mr. Hedges, thank you for your great feedback and more than anything, taking the time to write.
